Just checked the weather forecast for Sat & Sun. 30km winds SW on Saturday, Sunday 40km. I hope it does break up the existing ice. I'm going to stay off the ice for now. Next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is forecasting -17 & -18 at night. Good ice making weather!

Yes, agreed winds aren't overly favourable, especially for Sun. But Sat depending where you check I'm seeing 15-20 km SW. Hopefully things will change by the weekend.

Me bad. Just checked my post. Should read "I hope it does NOT break up the existing ice"!

Right here:

http://www.lakesimcoeoutdoors.com/lakesimc...ne_forecast.php

Scroll down to windfinder charts.
Sat Jan 19th - 7 am to 1 pm avg winds 11 knots SW = 20 km/hr

They gust up in the evening and Sun morn.

I'm not 100% happy with the current forecast of the wind direction. But things can change before Sat. Friday evening forecast should be more accurate.

The weather network is showing 50km winds for sat. If thats the case I wont be going out. My hunting blind cant handle that kind of wind.

It's showing 30 km for Beaverton. 30 km is still quite windy. Hopefully it will change.

I booked a hut with an operator for perch in PB for Sunday. Do you guys think it is too dangerous to go?
