Very cold out there first thing this morning. Few out with the wind and temperature being a bad combination - things had to be anchored or banked in what little snow patches there were. Just a heads up for others venturing out, the ice is very clean and slippery! Having cleats is the smart thing - saw a few guys go down today.

For fishing, it was really slow this morning. After noon things picked up and produced a nice feed of fish. Still alot of slush in closer to clean - alot! Where we fished is why I posted this, but more as a "nod" about safe walking. Best of luck this weekend - "I have to work!"

Thanks for the great report, and glad you got fish in the afternoon. Now, is this off Port Bolster? And if yes, did you leave any jumbo perch for me to catch this coming Saturday?:-)

Sorry for the mistake: "Where we fished is why I posted this, but more as a "nod" about safe walking." Should have been "isn't why...." More parts must be numb still! Oops!
xiaolu: Worked hard to leave alot of fish swimming for others! Who knows where they'll be by the weekend? Interesting though, we watched a whitefish feeding under the clear ice as we were walking off for the day. My buddy was just about on top of it before it shot deeper; it wasn't a herring. Water depth was probably 15 feet. Not something you see everyday!

Thanks for the report. I don't know if I can get up there Saturday but I'm Hoping. Sounds like it might be quite busy though.
