Hi ...
I just came back from a run around the lake, west side, north of Gilford. I started checking ice at the 4th line Innisfil, it is coming along but not safe by any means. I then stopped at the 5th, 6th & 7th lines... The same, a skim of ice as far out as you can see... Quite a few cracks in it... I went into the park to check it out, it is frozen but just only frozen. Ice out as far as I could see, looks like past the Islands and north ... I broke a hole at shore and there was one inch of ice. It looks like open water about 300 to 400 yards out but it is a skim of ice. I know it is ice for 2 reasons, the snow blowing across it and no waves from the quite brisk wind ...
So, it is no where near ready for walking on but it is a start, keep your fingers crossed that the cold temperatures stay and finnish the job so we can hit the big water...

Great report! Sounds like its just a matter of a little more time. I said yesterday that if we get 2 weeks of steady deep freeze, i"ll gout all of February!!! Worth the wait!!!
