I built a portable hut out of heavy duty plywood and a fitted tarp. I plan on leaving it out on simcoe. It can fold down fo transport but is very soild upright with top and side suports. Any advice on anchoring or location on cooks bay???? Any advice would be appreciated!!!!

I'm with you Bob. I see many short 2X4's and 4X4's and other sundry bits and pieces including hut floors that have obviously been chainsawed off in the spring, I expect as part of the have to get it off by the 15th of March. I've narrowly missed a few in the spring so I always go slow and keep a close watch until we've had a few good blows to put it all up on shore somewhere. Years when the winds are favourable I get a ton of future firewood washed up on my shore. I guess that's a good thing but at the end of the day, I'd sooner have a cleaner lake after ice off.

I was thinking about using a chain and a wood anchor to avoid people cutting the rope. Also planing on removing it in the spring. Ive hit many things with my boat on simcoe

Welcome to the board Tuner. well you can put your hut in a few places in Cooks Bay, like in Le Froys , Innisfill, Gilford, Keswick areas etc. Hope that helps. Cheers

Why not lock it? Just in case someone needs a place to sleep if they need , like if lost on lake.
