Hi guys I went to Gilford yesterday and did well with the jumbos. I got to the ice at 9:00am, spudded my way out to 25 fow. I checked the ice every 15 or 20 feet. For the first 80 yards it was 3 to 3 1/2 inches and when you got past that it got thicker as I went. Out at the depth I was fishing the ice was a really good 5to 5 1/2 inches of solid clear ice.
I picked a spot and fished it all day as there was no need to move around cause the jumbos were underneath me and they were on a feed big time. I caught over a hundred fish and kept 25 between 11 and 14 inches. I also caught 4 herring that went back down the hole. Had a blast being on the catching some good eats. The bite completely stopped around 1:00 pm and then I packed her in as I had an excellent haul of fish. All fish were caught on jiggin raps and realstix.
I got some good pics on my iPhone but don't know how to load them up. Cheers guys and good luck. I'm going to go and stuff my face with some bacon, eggs and tasty jumbo perch. Lol
