Craig I have a great time taking the kids out and they have fun. I have the machines and don't mind going out but I am a watcher. Also being tense while walking takes a toll. Glad you had a good time. Me, I worry about slipping and hitting my head and cracking the ice. hopefully I will get out with ya for whities and trout soon.
Sounds good Bob, I do like/need to get away from things and sitting in a hut with nothing on my mind except what bait to use and how big will the next fish be is a great way to do so. Yes it's great for the kids as the perch will keep their interest but I would have been very worried about them falling and getting hurt on ice like we had yesterday. The walk out from PB is also too far for kids. I hope we can get out this yer also Bob, I need to learn "the ways of the whities" hopefully the cold temps this week will set some ice up if the wind doesn't not ruin things.

Yeah, me too. Never fished for whitefish or lake trout on hard or soft water so would be a new experience. That is why we don't have a flasher but looks like that may have risen to the top of the wish list right now. I liked Jerry's x67 since I am use to the sonar and not a flasher but you can switch to flasher and learn it. We would have to bum a ride though as we don't have any machine to get us out further except or feet.

Hey Nicole, I you go out from the other side of the lake when it's safe I've, you don't have to walk half as far as we did yesterday and you will be in deep water.

I'd be in for that too nsfisher! Cheers!
Sounds good Mark, If we do get safe ice over the deep water, I think Bob' s plan was to have a meet & great. That's ONLY if the ice is absolutely safe for a large group
