Port Bolster today, Reports???

I know there were people out there, but no reports. Are all of you still on the ice?

I'm with you Bob. Where are the reports? It sounded like there was a mini meet n greet goin on there. Patience I guess... Well...

my buddy was out there today he limited out,,got a few 14"ers as well sorry hes got all the pics,...5-7 inches of ice where he was

Hey guy's it was a good day got to meet a few members and put faces to names. We got a few jumbos but they were few and far between. James and Jerry took a few pics and I am sure they will post soon. If they are as tired as me it may be tomorrow. The ice as about 7" not black but solid. The walk out and bad very little snow and and even with cleats everyone was slipping. Nasty web walk back as it poured rain, over an inch of water on top for the loooong walk back. Also some rough ice about a third of the way out to hut city. I think Casey's probably doubled their annual income in one day. Was an enjoyable day but a lot o work for a few ppperrrch. Thanks to everyone, I hope you enjoyed your day as well.

I stayed in shallow,17 ft deep water,was fishing with an elder member of the board(80 yrs young),drilling for him and just making fishing a little easier for him,only got a couple of small ones ,then on the way home changed a flat tire for a person on lakeridge rd,better than sitting home .

Craig, did you go out to where you were last year? At least you got out. I am dying for real ice.

Hey Bob, actually walked out farther than last year. Stayed to the left side of the crowd. I am starting to agree with you re; the pppeeerch. Way too much work for perch unless you have a machine to get out that far. My back is sore and the rest of me is aching. I think it's mostly due to treading so carefully and adjusting your balance while walking in such slippery conditions. It was however a great day and I got to play with my new ice55.

It was a good time even though the fishing wasn't the best. Hope to do it again.

Craig I have a great time taking the kids out and they have fun. I have the machines and don't mind going out but I am a watcher. Also being tense while walking takes a toll. Glad you had a good time. Me, I worry about slipping and hitting my head and cracking the ice. hopefully I will get out with ya for whities and trout soon.

Didn't get a chance to meet any of you today, but hopefully in future outings I will.

Never actually went out ice fishing for perch before. Always fished lakers/whities.

Had a good time. Ended up with an 11 inch jumbo, and a few 9's.

Threw everything at them today. Must be my technique is lacking. Jumbo came on a sweedish pimple tipped in 22fow.

Hardest part of the day, was dragging my gear back to Caseys. That was horrible......

Ice wasn't as good as I had expected. Not sure where people are seeing black ice out there, but I wasn't. (8" auger hole)

Anyone else notice the $50 parking tickets on the cars parked at the beach???

Hey Washout, you had to walk quite a way out to get to the black ice. I should have taken a pic on the way back in. You could see the line where the white ice met the black ice.

If it wasn't so populated out there yesterday, I would have walked the additional 300yrds, which I guess woud have answered my question, but I didn't feel like playing the hut shuffle game yesterday, as I was running solo.

Strangely enough, later in the morning I had a friendly neighbor pop his hut beside me. It was Evanxrs.
