Wind, that is not word 60 to 80k here in Atherley there was a light show last night, lost everything that was on front lawn and deck. And the wind is still strong, I guess no one will be fishing today if the ice is still there

I'd be willing to bet there will be a lot of free portables along the east side of the lake for the pickins.
Yes! And I was about to head to east side of the lake for some free portable huts, and there must be tons of them to pick up for free, but then I thought there might not be one that is still in one-piece and un-broken;-)

Very strong winds in GTA today as well. Last night it was howling. Anyhoo woke-up to a nice surprise this morning, I lost a few shingles on the roof. Bare plywood exposed in spots... GREAT! Another fix it job for me....
Going to buy a ladder now, but I won't be going up there today..

Jerry, if you need a roofing guy, let me know. I had a buddy do my entire roof last year for half the price everyone else quoted and he does good work.

Bayliner, I still remember your post from last March. I laughed so hard! I'm sure it still applies today again! Be safe everyone! Suzanne and Joe

FREE Portable Fish Huts Different sizes and styles available. Some are new and some are used.
Here's what you'll need to do to get yours: On Saturday morning, March 3rd, find large groups of people ice fishing, Stand along the shoreline down wind of these large groups and wait, Sooner or later one of these huts will be coming your way, But you'll have to be quick cuz they'll be doing about 100 MPH

Hey Jerry, if you need to borrow a ladder, we have a 20 ft one. Just not sure how you would get it to your house but same would apply if you had to bring one home from the store. Just let me know.

Thanks Nicole, I will let you know if I need to borrow it, thanks for the offer. I have a gift card from Home Depot, so i'll see what ladders they have. I need one eventually anyway.. 8 ft fits inside my jeep, so maybe a 3 way folding if it isn't too expensive OR I will be strapping it on the roof rack. I measured and yes, I need 18-20 ft ladder.
Thanks John, Yes, keep that roofing guy's number on the ready for me.. I'm going to need it..
Ok course this had to happen right at the start of a cold snap...

Call a roofer to do a quick patch job, and fix it properly when the weather gets better. Not favourable conditions to be on a roof at this time of year. JMO.
