Jerry sorry to hear that. BUT I went thru the same, bought the house with snow on the roof. When the snow melted, I needed a new roof. And you know how big this roof is, the length is 140 feet. If you need support I am a good supervisor.

IKO shingles Builder put them on our house and needed to be replaced 10 years early and we even pushed it a couple of years. I'm in the class action lawsuit filed against them. Could have been a bad batch but must have been a big one. All the houses around us are replacing early as well. We just did ours in November.

Original BP 3 tab shingles lasted 8 yrs before wind blew them off in 2010
Insurance replaced with some garbage 3 tab CIL or something. Lasted 2 years until exaxt same thing happned in 2012.
Had to put in a second claim this past summer, but I told the insurance I was going to use my own brand of shingles and my own contractor. They mailed me a cheque for $10,400 for the replacement.
I did a lot of research, and installed GAF ARCHITECTURAL shingles. They are among the best.
Give them some consideration if you're re-roofing.
Here's an intersting video of them.

Good luck.

Don't worry folks, although I did want to go up on the roof and access the damage, decided to chicken out, due to the winds, cold, ice and slippery conditions. Will wait for better weather and have a roofer do a patch job for now and probably re-roof in the spring.
