Looking at coming up for weekend with my dad 26th-27th. Was wondering how much ice will there will be. Looking to drive a truck out so wondering if it is safe for that. Would be looking at going to South bay preferably or calendar bay. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Jared

Lots of ice, but pressure cracks are apparently an issue for bringing vehicles out on the ice right now.

Most pressure cracks I've ever seen, new ones every day. Be careful people!

Hi FatRap, we are back now. Saturday was on a slow side, they were biting so finicky and light, I guess we lost more when we landed, lol. Sunday was the greatest day, despite cold weather and wind, walleye was on fire, we could not keep them off the hook literally. The only problem was a perch, you had to catch few of these stripy backs in between and changing the minnows on open air with -23 and a wind wasn’t something we really enjoyed. Monday we had just a few hours for fishing, got the limit and left. Not too many pictures this time; hands were cold and camera on my phone just refused to work in this temperature. So fishing is still very good.

Glad you had a good trip!

I can relate to the non stop action and lack of photos

Good luck Rap and hope hwy conditions we’ll be better for your upcoming trip, we had a hell time coming back, all the way home, roads were just pure ice with zero maintenance, cars and trucks in the ditches every few miles, I know it’s winter but never seen 11 in such bad shape!
