If you are anywhere near Orillia. Unlocked and empty. They will even steal your rusted out minnow pail. If you do want to leave your minnow pail, poop in it and leave it for the thieves. They will scoop the poop too.

Portable hut. I can go where I want, I don't have to worry about ice out in Mar and I don't worry about it getting vandalized. Somedays I take itbut don't even use it. Sure there is the set up time. Its not as warm or comfortable. It's not a perfect system. I'm good with it this way though.

If they can't break into it, they'll either light it on fire or run into it and smash it.

I agree with Walleyediver.

If your leaving your out in deeper waters near Orillia I can bet you even the rod holders will be ripped off it .

I had Ketchup and Mustard stolen from mine . Rod holders ripped off and door kicked in which had a lock on it. It's all good what goes around comes around .

Keep it locked. At least the reasonably honest people will stay out.

close to barrie- unlocked. usually lots of smash ins. i just put a spoon in the latch instead of a lock. rustiest propane you can find. lost my tipup sticks once, and a bag of chips i was lookin forward too. usually the guys around here use an ax to get in and its not pretty or easy to fix. never had to fix mine. i have a few buds that i tell where it is so they can use it at will, but ive had to boot strangers out too lol

I use the portable. When the fish move, so do I. I find the season is too short and you don't have all kinds of friends until its time to bring the hut in.
