perch eyeballs for bait?, is it even legal???

A buddy of mine suggested using the eyeballs from caught perch as bait to catch more. He says it works mint, not sure its legal or I wanna test its legality on the the lake seeing as I see a few wardens there every year. Anyone do this or know if its good to go?

yes it is legal as long as you keep the perch whos eye balls you popped out lol..same for trout catch one and use the eyeball for bait.. always works.. just dont be poppin out there eyes and releasing them lol...

This is from the MNR Regulations.

In the 1989 version of the Ontario Fishery Regulations there was a restriction on using fish or fish parts that were not listed as baitfish. That would have prevented a person from using perch eyes. Under the newest version (2007) of the Ontario Fishery Regulations a person cannot use or possess for use as bait an invasive fish (alive or dead) or a live fish that is not a species of baitfish.
Therefore perch eyes would be permissible and a dead perch could also be used unless you were fishing in a lake that was restricted to artificial bait only.

i heard that perch eyes are great to use. How do you hook them without bursting them?

Nick it doesn't matter if they burst....just being on the hook the Perch will go
crazy for them.

If we feed perch with perch eyeballs too often, I am afraid (or I guess) sooner or later all the perch in the water on the lake will crazily chase each other trying to catch and eat the other perch's you-know-what-I-mean (hint: there are two of them per perch;-)
