I've just been introduced to the Simcoe bug so I baught myself 4 of them I've never used them before and they are obviously not that heavy. I'm wondering how you guys like to set them up? Do you like to put a bell weight or split shot on them or do you tip with a minnow?

These ones don't feel like they have weight at all. Not even the weight of a 1/16 jig head are they suppose to be the weight of that or similar to a 1/8?

Was out today and all they wanted was minnows alive or dead didn't matter my bud try some gulp. It worked but not as good as meat. So ether or I always tip it with a minnow.><>><>><>><>

2 of us took home 50 from 9 to 13" 15 over 11 2 @ 13 rest in the 9 to 11" range. Ice was 5/9" 24fow we where not out far maybe a klick or so off Holems point rd. With Steve fish huts. Lots of dinks released at least 300. All in all was a great day with my bud 2Cool.}<>}<>}<>}<>

not very hard to make. I made some last year and improved them this year. Made them with Red hooks instead of the norm and Perch were SMASHING them on sunday. White and red were the colour of choice. I found that if I tipped it with a minnow head I would get more hits. This was my first attempt last year making them and it worked pretty good. ( surprised cuz it wasn't made well) I used copper wire to wrap around the hook but found some small lead wieghts this year which worked much better. If you are close to the Stouffville area send me a PM and i'd be happy to give you one for the weekend. You are obligated to provide a report thou and a picture of a fish caught.

the ones I've made now are much better! I really enjoy making them and when they catch its even better! Bajanman let me know before the weekend if you are popping by as I'm not on much during the weekend.
