Simcoe bugs DO work even without a minnow. I just picked up the materials to tie a few of my own. Gonna try out my creations on Friday.

I use them on the bottom of the drop shot rig for ice fishing. It makes the rubber bait look like its chasing the bug down to the bottom. Works well. We need a tackle shop in Barrie to sell the "real lead bugs". I prefer the smaller size. I heard meegz was trying to produce the newer larger size. I like the glow colour with pink. I also find that the first ice bite on them a lot better..

i'm going to give them a serious chance to work this weekend. using them on a drop shot set up sounds like the way to go.
