I'm looking to finally fish simcoe this weekend, anyone know how the ice is? I live in Barrie but do you think it's worth the drive to port bolster instead of staying in cooks bay?

I'm not down Cooks Bay way, but I would think that by the weekend the Cooks ice should be safe for walking at least.

Keep an eye on things here and you should know by Friday.

There's 7 inches oh ice st gilford and theres good jumbos to be caught.
Guys have sleds and quads on the ice now, just stay in the southern part of the bay if on a machine.

If the fishing is hot you could throw down an unbaited hook and come up with fish...if not try small jigs, spoons, minnows or maggots.

NOCOD...will you be out perchin' this sunday?? if so I will probally see you out there!
