Driving on cooks bay

Egg Group: Newbies Posts: 8 Member No.: 2900 Joined: January 15, 2013	Hey all, the last little while has been very cold and I'm wondering if anyone has taken a pickup out on the ice yet. Heading up there Sunday with the intention of walking but would obviously prefer to drive if its safe. Thanks for the advice.

Trophy Trout Group: Members Posts: 752 Member No.: 2190 Joined: November 11, 2012	Agree with everyone. Walk.....There is no need to drive and it is very unsafe.... Pick up truck weight a lot and there is a lot of ice that varies in thickness due to the ice boat rescue over a week ago.

Egg Group: Newbies Posts: 1 Member No.: 955 Joined: December 10, 2011	WALK, i walked out onto cooks bay from glenwoods and some guy drove out there in a station wagon, i could see small cracks forming as he drove by and i was about 600 m away there was about 7" of nice ice

And i have no problems driving on the ice but i personally wont do it on anything under 12 inches and im never the first one. I always wait till ive seen a bit of traffic before i will do it.
