I love pike!! It takes a bit to remove all the bones but once it is done a great tasting fish. We have given filets to friends and family and they always ask for more.

I like pike just as much as any other fish. I fond no big problem with the bones. Pretty much the same as trout or whities with the Y bones. Just have to cut out that section.

Me as well with the pike, but only from cold wter, like winter or late fall.

I try to take great care not to get the stinky skin/mucous on the meat

My way to clean pike is easy, remove hook and let go.

A tip an old fellow older them myself years ago said. "If you hang your pike before cleaning them for a couple of minutes most of the slime will drip off."
He would hang his pike from a tree branch.
Of course they have to be warmed up in winter first for that to happen.

I always use pike for fish cakes , grind the flesh, mix with your favorite fish cake blends and you won`t even notice the bones.
