The past few years the trout has fooled me quite a few times they hit the spreader and I have caught whities on the high hook. I put a double spreader, hooks torned up on the bottom, and smaller minnows with one hook 3 feet up and one 5 feet up. They are snelled # 8 mustads. This setup in my hut caught me lots. Good luck and wait for ice before going out
