What an excellent day to kick off the big fish hard water season for myself and about 200 other anglers. Headed off of the south shore of kbay. Headed to a waypoint and set up in 110'. Started marking fish right off the hop, but they weren't very active first thing. A few streaks and before you know it my buddy is hooked up with his first lake trout of 2013, a healthy 6-8 lb stocker. As the morning grew brighter as did the bite. We were steady into fish from 10 am till 1 pm, between three of us we managed 25+ lake trout and 0 whitefish. All fish were released except for the two I have in brine right now

how the ice at big bay point
I can't comment on the ice at bbp as I am not positive what the thicknesses are, I wasn't actually out off bbp. But the ice below my feet was between 3 and 5 inch good clear ice.

Good Job
How much ice were you on?
A light snow cover TG with anywhere fein 3-5inch good clear ice. Saw some sleds (2) actually cross the bay today. Don't know about that yet, little early!
