Hey guys!

Due to my work hours I sometimes dont get much of a chance to do any fishing during the day during winter months. So inste3ad of staying home a reading the forums i decided to try night fishing at one of my favorites spots... Now we do good in the summer sometimes fishing well past 10pm...

Last nioght we fished 630-1030 without a single hit... Tjhis is a bit of a heart breaker as I would be able to do twice the amount of fishing lol

My question is did we simply have a bad night or is it not woth fishing nipissing in the winter at night?

Has anybody had any luck after 7pm??

what about the boys who stay overnight?
thank you

The first thing I would do is take a fish finder and see if the fish are there, and fish during the day when you can and see if the fish are there or more active . Fishfinder would be a nice tool to use.

Yeah here active during the day...Any time I go between 7am-5pm I can garantee my limit in walleye (Iknow impressive 2!lol) but even on a bad day i normally hook up with 5-6 fish.... My issue is my availibility... just trying to get more fishing done and im mostly available after 7pm lol

When we were up a week ago I was marking fish and schools up to 10:00 pm. Used some rattling darters to draw them in and then switched to minnows and jigheads. Caught all of our fish in the am and late afternoon. They are there, just have to get the right combo. My tipups just produced mudpuppies at night. The fish finder is a must to have a fighting chance. This year we started using the Marcum Showdown Ice Troller and it worked spot on. Good luck out there!
