We decided to try the morning bite at PB after a slow afternoon at VB yesterday. On our walk out nocod stopped to chat as he was headed in for a coffee on his bike. After a quick talk, we kept heading out to towards Casey's huts and he went for his coffee. We looked around for Fshn Frk but didn't recognize any huts that looked like his so we decided to set up shop just beyond Casey's.
As we were drilling holes, nocod found us after his coffee and stayed to fish a bit in the spot we picked. He had 6 fish on before we even were set up. It took about 15 min to get our first fish but it was a steady bite after that until about 1pm. Slab Grabber was my best lure with 80% of the bite but hubby was getting 80% of his bite on the hook with minnow above his lure. We were catching mostly 7" perch and a few over 8". The biggest was 10" which we had in a bucket of water but didn't catch anything else that size so we put it back down the hole. I figure we caught almost 100 perch in the 4.75 hrs we were out there so we were definitely kept busy but nothing of real size. Hubby caught his first herring which he thought was a jumbo until it got to the hole. I also caught a couple of herring as well which all went back down the hole.
The bite really slowed down so we headed back around 1:45. We never found Mark and Mark but hopefully they had some luck. Hoping to get out on Simcoe next Sunday as we are going to Fenelon Falls for the weekend to see how the fish are biting in the Kawartha's

We were on 11" clear ice. Lots of sleds and atv's out there. Hey nocod, since you found both of us, were we anywhere close to each other? I think a big flag might make you stand out of the crowd. Maybe one for the Argos?? I put a printout of the LSO logo into my hut registration number pouch as we don't have ours registered but it isn't really that big.

yes you where pretty close, you pointed to a hut east of you and said it may be mark?,you where right it was him, having the lso decal does help if you are close enough to see it,the flag idea is a great way to identify yourself imo.
