Poor readings at greater depths with Lowrance Ice

Hey all. I have an older Lowrance X100C that I've been using for ice fishing the past three years. I have been using my skimmer transducer mounted on a stick, and, it has done the job for me.
A couple weeks ago, I broke down and bought the ice transducer for the unit, knowing that it would be more convenient than the stick set up. I also figured I would get better readings with it. We fished 62-66 feet of water this past weekend, and, my readings below 40 were definitely no better than with the regular transducer!
Anybody find the same thing, or have any tips? I adjusted the sensitivity, but, as I get up over 85 % where the jig shows up better...I get so much interference that it negates the positives.

Was anyone else fishing close to you and also using a sonar?

I have an Eagle Fishmark 320 that I use and I like to run it with the sensitivity near 95-100%.

But if someone else is within 100ft of me, I get lots of interference and have to back of the sensitivity.

Is there noise reduction feature in that unit and does it have zoom feature?

Thanks, guys. There were other people fishing within 100 feet of me, so that might explain the interference.
I'll have to check on the noise reduction (don't think it has it) does have zoom, 2X and 4X...which I used for most of the time.

Not quite familiar with that unit, but most Lowrances are built basically same way, so.

surface clarity, ping spedd, chart speed on high

all auto features ..OFF

4 x zoom on

noise reduction if you have .on

then play with sensitivity so you see bottom and just make out you jig/lure

oh, watch out for any air bubbles on bottom of transducer, just in case and lower to bottom of ice

if near another unit, you may have to move, but 100 feet is normallymore than enough. I've fished with guys with a Vex in my pop-up and no issues, but that's with an x67c.

I just downloaded the operaters manual for the unit, and, there is a feature called ASP...which is a noise reduction feature!
It has four settings, off, low, medium and high. My guess is that my unit is set to off right now (I'll check later) so hopefully that solves my problem.
I was basically just playing around with sensitivity and chart speed...so I'll mess with the noise reduction and surface clarity which SHOULD give me the results I'm looking for. Now, I just need to get out on the ice in those depths, again, lol!!!

CravingIce you were definitely being interfered with yesterday as your unit was affecting mine a Hummingbird Matrix 17 dual cone unit ...I just adjusted mine to knock out your interference...and I did have both cones active.I'm guessing but I think you were within 100' from me...just monkey with it and you will get it right ..took me a little while to figure mine out when I first got it but after a few trips got it down to a science now ...there is nothing worse than black flashes stobing the screen...And like I said to ya I like my tools ...never thought I needed a finder till I used one ...now I can't or maybe I should say won't fish without it ....Backwoodsmanbob can attest to that ...when we are out on Simcoe I just comendere his x67.

Yeah, that was my luck on Sunday. Opened up my X67 only to notice that it was already on and must have been left from the day before. Got about 10 mins out of it and it died. I tried for about an hour without it but I felt like a blind man driving down the highway.
Lesson learned - always check the night before.
