Hi everyone,

Just joined the forum. I've been having trouble finding any fish on chemong lake this year. Last two years I have had great luck but nothing this year with 4 trips out on the lake. Has anyone had any luck with the pan fish on chemong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried the shoreline along tindle bay and all around horseshoe island. Water level is really low and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

well i just got back from Chemong lake and finally had some luck! But still no crappy. I've been hearing they have been biting after sundown. Caught lots of bluegill, sunfish, perch and a couple small largemouth. I'm going to try tomorrow after sundown and i'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the report. It's good that you are getting some pannies. I am fishing Scugog with not much luck, mostly small perch. I will try the evening bite as well.

For some reason I always forget to look at these forums.. I always go right to the simcoe boaed. I fish chemong quite a bit. Ive had a lot of success with everything but crappie. I have had some success but not much. I dont get too worried though since i found this normal on that lake. The crappie bite starts out slow but then picks up later in the season. You may as well forget tindal bay. There just doesnt seem to be anything to hold fish there. As for the rest of the lake if you stay in the 8-10 fow range you shouldnt have any trouble finding steady action. I have found once you get outside the 10ft mark the bite starts to drop off and the further out you get the worse it seems to get. Right now evening seems to be the time to get crappie but soon you should be able to get em throughout the day.

What are you guys using for crappie. I am on scugog fishing the evening bite and can't get many slabs at all. I am using pinheads on small teardrop jigs.
