PERCH., When Cleaning them ?

Last year I read somewhere that if you fillet your wormy perch and put them in the fridge in a bowl covered in ice cubes the worms will crawl out of the meat. I never tried it but its worth a try. Good Luck if it works let others know. Mike

I read some time ago that all fish is previously frozen prior to serving as sushi this kills the parasite. So freeze ,thaw & cook doubly safe and lots of wodka hiccup!

hey guys, this is just what i have experienced so far for the 2013 PERCH season.

ive been a little disappointed in simcoe this year so far for perch. Iv e only gone out 3 times to target perch specifically. The first time i went to PB, i kept 10 jumbos and 7 of them had perch (I was fishing in 17.5 feet of water according to the finder). The second time i went to cooks bay off of gilford road. I kept 10 jumbos, and 4 of them had worms. (was fishing in 19.5 feet of water according to the finder) . This past friday i went back to cooks bay and only kept 5 eaters, and 3 of them had yellow grubs. (was fishing in 21 feet of water according to the finder) . Last year i went out alot more, kept roughly 10 fish per outing to eat that night and didn't even encounter one yellow grub. maybe a warm summer accompanied by bad luck , and thats how it has turned out for me. anyone else have similar experience.

Not all of ours had them . I will defiantly try the ice cubes or freezing them .

I just like to eat them fresh that day .



If you do freeze them where do they go when you defrost it ? Do they de-solve or something ?
