So is ice fishing the same as soft water fishing ,will barometric pressure affect the way fish act?

I certainly believe so, as do moon phases.

Does not mean you cannot catch fish, but bite and level of activety changes.

Most folks I know love stable weather for fishing with the barometer around the 101.2 mark

There can be a very active bite as barometer drops, say from a high like 103 to 100

I also think this holds more true in shallow water than say 80 feet plus.

Having said all that, other factors like first ice come into play.meaning less pressured fish and so on.

I was in the truck this morning raring to go, but ice and fog......kept me home.maybe later today.....
