1st off I went om the 27th Sunday January and went to the lake, didn't get a bite all day long. And do you know why, those dam ATVs ripping up and down the lake, they scare all the fish away. Those arrogant bastards cut me off wouldn't let me park my car.We need laws to get them off the lake, not only do they scare the fish away but the home owners don't want to hear them day and night too. Its like they own the lake and FU I can rip up and down, were you are fishing all day long. The world revolves around me. The Ski do are bad enough and they need to be off the lake but the ATV crowd are a bunch of hillbillies and could care less a bought you and others. There are Traills that you can go on, I have no choice but to fish the lake. Having said that, after they went home I got 7 or so perch all small, I let lots go too small too keep don't know whats going on when all there is are small fish, maybe over fished. The ice was like 8 inches thick went down Hwy 89 cooks bay

perk tell us how u really feel.
Rob i went to big bay point today as i heard it was good. there was about 4" of ice and about 5 huts there at the part i was at. i didn't even get a bite. caught some perch at Gilford earlier in the day though and now thinking i should have stayed. the jumbo's were MIA but it bets getting skunked.
will come back later to see if you find out where those lakers are hiding as i'd like to get my hands on one also.

I am sure it was probably a couple of teens having some fun. I agree that they probably should'nt be on the ice this soon. Banning atvs from the ice will make a lot of fisherman very unhappy, me included. And if you didn't notice there is about a foot of snow right now, so driving on trails probably isn't the best idea at the moment

I have seen where the fishing was slow until a vehicule passed by, moving the fish and they become a little more aggressive. Dont like them running right next to but dont mind a little traffic either.
On another note, I have trail passes for my sleds and atv that cost me $650 for the season. The lake is free so I can see why some like to use it. Dont know why so expensive but not everyone can afford it. They should be courtious but that hardly happens even on our highways. Just my 2 ¢
