Hi Folks:

As luck may have it - wanted to take out our older ATV for a spin today. Last night we put the battery on the charger due to the fact we haven't used it for nearly 2 winters. Murphy's law prevailed and the battery was dead. I thought no problem its was due to be replaced so we headed into town to buy a new battery - unfortunately - to my dismay buying a new battery for an ATV is not so easy. Spent most of the day running around trying to find one in stock and the best I could manage was to order one from the dealer but it wouldn't arrive until Wednesday. Annoyed we decided to do some other shopping while we were in town and by chance we mentioned our perdicament to 2 clearks at Princess Auto who suggested we check out Battery Direct.

We headed over to Battery Direct Inc. (1210 Kerrisdale Blvd. in Newmarket which is located just off of Leslie Street and south of Green Lane). The nice folks at Battery Direct (we were served by Randy Anderson) solved our battery problem in no time and at an amazing price ($50.00 versus $150.00 at the dealer). BTW - their hours are 8:00 - 5:00 not sure if they are open on weekends.

I would highly recommend Battery Direct - apparently they sell batteries for nearly anything including fish finders, ATV's, marine batteries along with solar powered systems.

Thanks for that Nancy. I did not know about that place. I know of others but that one would be much more convenient for me as I regularly pass nearby on my way to and from the lake. For people in the Barrie area there is Total Battery at 461 Dunlop W just west of the 400. They also have all sorts and kinds at reasonable prices.

found a great place in newmarket called ORPS there on bayview one light south of mulock place is small but unbelievable invetory on batterys and parts for sleds and atv's
