I dont think there is one topic in these forums that stays on topic..LOL thats the great thing about it we are all here to just talk about different things in general when it comes to fishing... now i never said for anyone to come down from barrie to get minnows that is just crazy but when someone asks the question where to get minnows in barrie you dont know where he is coming from for all we know he is coming from hamilton, toronto, pickering, richmond hill so to help him out with answers we here on the board are making suggestions of who sells minnows and where, we are one big family here on the board topics will change quickly drama will start questions will get answered and some wont but hey its all for the ANGLERS because we love FISHING and talking about it... IT may not have helped HILLBILLY but im sure everyone suggesting various places to get minnows helped someone else..

Is TCO the former operation behind the, now new, gas bar on 400 going north?

Sorry for the hijack! I am coming from Burlington so it is helpful. I know Rack n Reel closed shop, and any other options between Burlington and Barrie aren't as convenient as TCO it seems.

No, that was 400 Baitshop or something, they are also gone...

Hillbilly . . . made some calls, apparently the place at/near Minets Point is the only place in Barrie selling minnows right now. I am told that it is run by the Cannings who used to run huts out of there.

rover1.5dx . . . no, but I believe Nick, who runs TCO, used to work there.

tonyb . . . That looks like an old listing. Cannings have not run huts for at least a couple of years. I am not local and most of my knowledge, such as it is, relates to the east side of the lake. Other people from the Barrie area assure me that Cannings are selling minnows etc. as of this year.

Tony, yes, that's the address, just about right next door to the Minets Point Park.

Thanks for the info ThorahGuy, I'll look into it further to have some more options for winter bait up that way.

As mentioned "CANNINGS" at "MINETS POINT" is now the "only" place in Barrie to get minnows. Rack 'n Reel closed / out of business qiute some time ago.

Dug up this old thread. Anyone know if TCO is still open? What time they open?

I am planning on hitting up Gilford tomorrow morning. Leaving from Toronto.

Anyone know places to buy minnows along the way?

Thanks

The Bait Bucket in Barrie normally has minnows.
