ordered an x67c ice machine early last week, and it came today. Only what they sent me wasn't an ice machine, but instead was the ice fishing kit. Basically i ordered a fish finder to receive a nice carrying case for the fish finder I never got. The store is sold out and wont be getting anymore.

Which leads me to the question, what other units are similar in function and price (but not less than) to the x67c?

Will ,

I bought the Elite 4 this year. I Bought the entire kit & Maps at Radio World off Steels.

$620 Taxes in . The inland maps card is a extra $150 bucks . I also bought the transducer for the boat which is another $85 Dollars on top of $ 620 . I can use the unit for ice and summer fishing with all my way points on there. Or if you fish different lakes you can save all your way points on a blank micro Sd card and upload it to the unit before you head out to that lake . Saves a lot more memory this way . This is of course if you like to fish a lot of different lakes......something to keep in mind . I finally mastered my unit ....I think

I have the elite 4x also. I can't seem to dial it in so I can see my lure jigging. My buddy has the x67c and you can see each jig. I can see fish moving in just not the jigging. Can you see your jigging clearly? If you Can,please tell me what setting you have it on. I think I've tried everything. It's my first fish finder so maybe it's just a learning curve.thanks

Ps. I'm using the summer ducer not ice. Does that make a difference?

will give the elite 4 a look. The manager of fishing dept is calling me back in the morning to work something out.

The skimmer transducer (summer) should not make a difference in seeing your bait unless you do not have it pointing straight down.

Radioworld has them instock. Coincidentally I was there today picking one up for a friend while I was in the area.

I'm liking all the converts

The functionality of both winter and summer is hard to beat.

sniperlee, often if my transducer is not perfectly level or shooting straight down, you may not see your lure at all...you need to fiddle with it and it will then show up.

failing that, I explained in another post proper settings etc.

Not to cover every detail, but

all auto features OFF

surface clarity, ping speed, chart speed...........max or high

noise reduction on

colorline...your choice..I'm good with around 80% at 90 FOW

zoom at 4X

zoom bar on and quickly adjusts to depths

senstivity you play with till you just see your bait/presetation.

In the end as I said, I often do not seee my lure, but do mark fish, if i lift up and fish follows, thatis all I need to know.

twitch twitch twitch, pause........BUMP! ..fish on!

Thanks Shank. A couple of adjustments I forgot to try. I'm very happy with the unit. Just hoping to fine tune it. You're right it's fun to watch fish rise up to your lure.

i switched to the hummingbird 345ice just because of the power and different settings.use to love lowrance x67 but kept getting interference from a friends hummingbird, moved into an hds7 on the ice but it ate batteries like crazy . went to hummingbird and never looked back .even bob can attest to the interferance the hummingbird thows but he still outfishes everyone with that x67 he uses

Fished with all of them . Love my Lowrance I even sleep next too it

sniperlee,

Lots of things can go wrong with not finding your jig , Marking fish , Depth Etc .

First off the summer skimmer transducer is for the boat. The Bell Transducer is for the ice . Catches everything Veritcle . Bell one is over $ 100 plus tax . Summer one is cheaper being around the $85 @ Radio world . My kit came with the bell and I purchased the Skimmer one separate for the boat . Now my unit is handy for all year round fishing along with way point and Gps, Fast Track , Etc.

Another point to remember when using the bell transducer for ice fishing make sure the Bell is past the ice !!!! Other wise you will not have a perfect reading on the fish, jigging , or depth ! If ice is 6'' .....make sure its down another few inches past the ice . May give you a different depth as well if your looking for that shoal but you defiantly will be marking fish and jigging. For correct depth I usually just lift the bell sinker to the top of the hole then put it back down for marking fish and jigging when fishing.....

Hope this helps.... I will Pm the settings on mine ! Everything is pretty Auto with the unit . Read the manual and you should be good to gooooo

Thanks dan, butI think we've just got it all sorted out.

i just got off the phone with the guys from northwoods and the manager there was able to make some calls and got his hands on another screen/unit, with no kit. So its in the mail to go with the ice fishing kit they already sent me.
