Regardless of the size, which I would estimate at 17-20 lbs, lets not let this thread get out of hand, it is still a beautiful fish

Thanks,

i kind of regret posting it now.

I edited the post after a few estimates at the weight, so that was fine.

It was more about WHERE this was caught than about the size. A great fish in an area it was not expected in and a great fight due to the size of the tackle.

Really, now it is even about the fact he did not comb his hair before the pic??

o well, will think twice next time.

Hey AK... Don't regret nothing !!! Me thinks there may be a fair bit of jealousy coming out here.."Great Fish" Best to your buddy..

Kevin there are a few who try to show how good they are by finding fault. There are many more who like seeing others succeed. Great fish and please post all your successes.

Well done that's a trophy laker for Cook's Bay and the rest of Lake Simcoe..
Don't listen to the hecklers, fishermen like to heckle each other especially when someone else catches a fish.. LOL

Weight, blah.. When I was a young lad and used to catch big bass, I would run around tooting my horn look at this 6-7-8 lb bass, what a monster!!! Then I finally bought a digital scale and well, um, errrrr, It looks like I am still looking for my first 6 lb largemouth. I am close, under by a few ounces, but can't break the 6lb barrier.. Someday maybe, probably.. whatever.. All good fish!

Keep posting all your reports, even the dink perch, any day fishing is a good day to be alive.....

definitely an awesome fish! I would agree it is in the 20lb or just under range because it looks pretty skinny in the picture. Its clear its an old fish from the darkness, big jaws and long length. Just not filled out.

Ive been amazed this year at the difference in the weight of fish that are the same length. Some are pigs, while other long and skinny.

Is it just me, or does his lower hand look bigger than normal???

Has the picture size been increased? He has hands bigger than his head!
