best place with a short walk...

I'm gonna try this weekend for Lakers or Whities...

Coming from Georgetown and my question (s) is.....which is the better access, IBP or Bear Point? I suspect the walk is shorter from BP? Also, anybody have any recent ice reports from these two places? The temperature is started down and we should be below 0 here in about 6 hrs.

BP seems to have safer ice.
Parking is a pain so get there early and I mean early.
Shanty same thing, maybe less ice.
No one will know until the freeze and it is safe to venture back out.
There were some wide cracks froze over last weekend and Monday that likely are open now, so hopefully we get a deep freeze that will firm up the ice.

If you going out, wear a floater suit and be safe....

Don't forget that hill at Bear Point; it can be a killer if it's slippery. Last year someone put a rope there as an assist, don't know if it's there this year.

If that rope is not there i will just say good luck going up and down. What a mess that hill can be. With all the rain if you don't have cleats seriously consider going somewhere else. I saw two guy fall hard last year. You cant believe how steep it is until you see it. Just be safe
