been out to rice a few times this season mostly because it is easy and close to the city. easiest place to fish is Bewdly: bait right there at BJ's, easy and free parking, short walk to fish, Rhino's roadhouse and Bewdly pizza for food and the LCBO should you be so inclined. As for the fishing, well it is Rice so expect a plethora of micro dinks. I understand the crappie have been biting; every time i try for them i catch walleye (illegal to target walleye and not allowed to keep'em). you can also head to Gore's Landing for some deeper water. there is limited street parking (respect the residents property) and easy access to the hard water.

Icefishing on Kawartha Lakes wasn't even allowed for any species but they opened it up to Panfish about 3 years ago. Yes it is to protect the Walleye numbers. It is a mega rush to catch a huge Muskie on a Ultra Light Icefishing Rod but of course all Muskies have to be released immediately.

I was at Bewdley also, catching some perch. Not huge but bigger than scugog. A few crappie caught too and two walleye. Released immediately, illegal to target and keep on Kawarthas.
