hey everyone i know it's early in the season but i like to book things early and i still have to research places any way. so would like to know sooner rather then later.

anually i take a trip up north for a week and fish bass until my hearts content. the last few years i ventured in the french river but didn't catch any monster bass.
the years before that i was fishing in the moon river with the odd monster bass but would like to find a new place.

My ideal place is some where with both big smallies and large mouths and i'm thinking some where around Elliot lake but am not stuck on that area.

If anyone knows a lake or even a cottage rental (with reasonable prices) on a lake as mentioned please let me know.

I will bump this thread in a few months to maximise responses as it is still months away from bass season.
thanks everyone.

not in your area, but it's the first place that comes to mind, Weslemekoon Lake, IMO best both species lake in ontario, other than great lakes.

If you don't mind heading SW instead of north it's hard to beat Rondeau Bay. Amazing largemouth fishing in the bay and you can fish giant smallies in the main basin of lake erie. There is also a great walleye and steelhead fishery in that area as well.

rice lake has some nice ones for sure, it's one of my go to lakes but i'm more so looking for a liitle bit of seclution and privacy as i do these once a year week trips as a vacation.

that lake Erie spot you mention is the same thing as it's not really a "secluded" place in my mind BUT it does sound like a good spot to go for a day trip of fishing to and so i definately will be doing that in the summer.

thanks guys

The wife and I book a private cottage for 2weeks every year and choose a different area/lake in Ontario every year, after reading this post we decided on Weslemkoon, cottage is booked for 2weeks July 13th thru July 27th, can't wait.
