Yesterday morning I hit the road before first light, destination, Meet & Greet. Almost 230 kilometres for me and most of it was in fog as thick as pea soup.
I arrived (late) around 9 and most had already headed out. Jerry and I minded the store till around 1ish when the gang came in off the ice. Then the festivities began. I got to see some old friends, meet some new ones and some memebers I didn't get a chance to meet. My bad for not getting to meet everyone but my back was out and killing me,,,sorry gang.
It's nice to be able to put a face and voice to a name. Next time I'll meet everyone,,,I promise.
All in all a great day.
Today, ThorahGuy, Admin and Mrs. Admin came to our place and we punched some holes in the ice. We iced plenty of browns that were quickly drank. About 1 brown every 1/2 hour. Then a nice meal with good friends. Oh ya,,,,,Mrs.Admin bakes great stuff,,,,Jerry, you should be fat.

Thank-you John & Rebecca for a wonderful day and fantastic dinner. You have a truely peaceful setting there on the Trent River. It was very enjoyable day, punching holes and in your front yard. It was a pleasure as always... Cheers, Jerry
PS: I know she's a good cook, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.. LOL

For the fishing fanatics, ice was 6-8" and starting to get sloppy by the end of the day. This is not the main trent, but a back channel. Water was crystal clear and we setup lively minnows along the weedline in 7-8 fow and in the main channel 14-15 fow. We fished for 2 1/2 hours midday and John had one good bite and that's about it. I marked one fish the whole time. Some recon required to find the hotspot(s). Next time....

Thank you John and Rebecca for a fabulous day. I'd forgotten how good your species of browns taste You have a beauty of a place there, very tranquil and relaxing. Thanks also to Mrs. Admin for driving so much of way. Thanks also to the ladies for all the great food, I think I gained a couple of pounds yesterday. Six lines down, well scattered and only one hit, or was it two? oh well, that's fishing. Beautiful setting, great weather, great friends, great food and drink, what more could anyone ask.

I'm glad you guys could come out for a visit and another good skunking.
On a side note, what a difference 48 hours can make. We went from good ice to totally unsafe ice in that time frame. Shoreline ice on the other side is toast and starting to become toast here. Lots and lots of thin spots in the middle.
With the rain and melting snow, it's finding it's way to the lakes and warming them substantially. Time to really think before heading out gang.

Mrs. Admin blasting tree rats.
Hey John, that's not a paintball gun? Are you stepping up your war on fur! I also pity any of those pesky black birds that show their beaks as you are getting serious
