Hi all,
Just wondering if you have any reccomendations for northern ice fishing trips. We have a gang you have gone every year, we did Nipissing, were not happy with the fishing. We also have done Lake Temagami 5 years in a row, at 5 different weeks of the hardwater season, and catching averages about 9 to 14 trout per trip (6 guys in a bungalow) with a few bonus whitefish and walleye thrown in, doesn't seems that great for nearly a 6 hour drive north.
Can any reccommend some others areas for a northern ice fishing trip within 6 hours of the GTA. Or perhaps u have a favourite operator who puts you on fish regularly.
We all know how to fish, and fish hard. It just seems that for that long of a drive, i would thing we could do better over a course of a 4 day weekend.

You can't expect to catch tons of fish anywhere. It's fishing you never know how the fishing is going to be on any given day.
Temagami and Nip are probably the most fished lakes in the north within your time limit from toronto and are probably your best chances for being on fish consistently. Another very good lake is lake Abitibi but that is farther then 6 hours and no hut operators.
