As a matter a fact I beer battered those perch , they were so good. As for no auger , I fished open holes. Also added pic of my catch cleaned.

Tried them as well this time. Figure I eat salmon roe & flying fish eggs when I go for sushi, they were not bad at all, mild in flavor. I have heard of people putting them in freezer until they firm up, then slicing them like thick coins, batter, then fry them. Me, I just left them whole.

I put them in fridge for awhile then slice them like a fillet. cook same as fish(batter, coating,my fav is Italian bread crumbs)takes a little longer to cook, and an aquired taste, but if you like them, you`ll never throw another egg sack away!

I found them to have a mildly sweet flavor, then with the salty, crispy flavor on the outside, pretty damn good, different but good.

Hey capable what were using for bait and roughly what depth. I was a roaches last weekend fished about 50 yards from the only perm hut out there and caught lots of fish but nothing over 8 inches i was using a slabgrabber. I love the perch roe. I was fishing and staying with some friends that live on Georgina a couple years ago and they fried the sack up whole with beer batter and lime tarter sauce it was amazing Been eating it ever since. Guys don't waste the roe you have no idea what you are missing.

There is a recipe in the resource section, I tried roe for the first time last year and most likely never again. It's just not for me, I seem to have an issue with eating any organs, liver gives me shivers just typing the word.

My dog loves them, but I would have to be terribly hungery.
