well it certainly was a different year for fish behaviour..
our northern trek began on mar 18 (just to make sure trout was closed) we fished morning and evenings for the three days, total of about 18 hrs ,our total catch was 4 trout and 4 whities,no fish were caught on the first day !!
dropped the camera into the 32 fow on the second morning and quickly sighted a steady stream of fish... But... they were all suspended 3-4 ft off bottom, this has not been the case in the past...so...on went top hooks and we began to catch a few.
interestily enough our chum went untouched and fishes belies were empty

as always a great trip ,good friends and many legal browns were consumed..
our end to the week had ma fisher take a fall, broken hip, surgery, and now a long recovery.

some pix included...last one is of whitey taking his last swim in oil covered in beer batter:(

Thanks for the report

I have not seen them off bottom like you mentioned, but that's intereting for sure..and shows yet again how fishing tactics need to change

I hope the recovery goes well for ma. That is not a good way to end a trip.
