Hey guys I would help you out if I had heard anything. Try asking one of our sponsors for that area, they would be glad to help.

Here is a picture taken looking south west from just west of the Waterfront in North Bay on Lake Nipissing. As you can see, there is still a fair bit of ice. I walked out about 100 yds here and that was about all I would risk...so it's slowly thinning out. You can also make out a creek flow to the right of this pic which is why there is some ice breaking up there.

We are expecting 10-15 cm of snow over the next few days, and this morning it was rather chilly out.....so I am thinking ice off around Mid May?

May have to ice fish for Walleye Opener....lol.

Ice fishing in May...well I can`t say I have ever seen that here on Nipissing. I just wanted to throw this out there...last year at this time we could take our boat out for a spin..... Today, as I look out the window...I see significant snowfall with about 5 inches of new snow on the ground. WTF....lol. It will be interesting to see the effect this has on the Walleye (and other species).

Went out today and snapped a few pictures of Lake Nipissing....Shots of Government Dock, Lavase River area, and Callander Bay for all of those who are curious. Just FYI, the Lavase River looked good and had a good level of water for April. Callander Bay looks like it has 5 to 10 inches left.
