My friends and I are planning a fishing trip for the weekend of April 27th to some of the smaller lakes and streams in the Nipissing to Ottawa River area such as Timber Lake.

Does anyone have any recent info on snow depth and ice conditions along highway 63?

Thanks!

Right now I think highway 11 would be your biggest problem...............it is all under water around the Huntsville area with all the flooding going on up there right now. They are calling for more rain mid week so hopefully it will be okay by the time you go up.

I have a friend who lives in Thorne at the end of 63 at the dam, I will send him an email to see what the snow and ice is like up there and get back to you.

Just heard back from my buddy and it does not look too good for this weekend. According to him he drove past Timber and Crooked Lake yesterday and both still have ice on them, he said people were still ice fishing on Timber and hasn't seen anyone or any vehicles parked around Crooked for a number of weeks now. Hwy 11 may still be a problem as well, he is saying he heard they are going to have to reconstruct part of the highway in the Muskoka area. Said there has been some flooding across 533 as well on Saturday but had receded when he drove it yesterday.

Good Luck, be careful if you venture up that way this weekend.

We decided to put off the trip until this weekend.

Does anyone have an recent account of the lakes along 63 and 533?

Hey Mud Trout, did you get up last weekend? Was the ice off the lakes?
