Does anyone here know a good way to keep nightcrawlers alive in a box, cooler or some other large container for long periods of time? I have a yard full of dew worms and would like to keep a few dozen or so at all times for fishing. I have read may tips on the net but would love to hear (or see...post pics) what you all do. I am aware of the fridge and keep them cold trick, but I am thinking more along the lines of a worm farm or large container somewhere in a garage or back yard.

They make worm boxes and bedding. The bedding has worm food right in it. I can keep mine all spring/summer. Just keep them out of direct sun and keep the bedding damp. Cheers!

Lol .... I was beginning to think no one would get that reference ....
FYI: I ended up using a bluebox and drilling holes near the top, and putting a cover on top...buried in in the back yard about half way in. I then shredded some newspaper and added some black earth and water. Sprinkled some old coffee grinds in there too. It seems to be doing ok. I now have more than a few dew worms in there so hopefully things go well. I might just take the advice above and go buy some worm food/bedding and give that a shot.
