Hi, I was just wondering, is it the right time of year to fish for trout in lake ontario or huron tributaries and from shore? I know people do this in the spring but is it too late/early? Also I've never fished lake ontario before but are the species / fishing techniques pretty much the same as lake Erie? Thanks!

Hey JMiller,
It is getting a bit late in the season to fish trout from shore on lake O. Just after ice out is the best for rainbow and you can pick up the browns from Nov to late Jan. it should be no different than fishing from shore on Erie.
