Anyone doing any pike fishing. I know everyone likes to catch the walleye but with reduced limits again I'm going to change my focus and target pike and smallmouths and maybe just maybe catch the odd sheepshead but not too many of the fish of sheep!!!Nothing better than a July day spent on the waters of Lake Nipissing. Go Bruins!

Tony,
Caught some nice pike trolling in the channel between south bay and fish bay. 1 st fish was 4 lbs on mepps#5. 2 nd fish was 5 lbs on 6" jake perch finish. 3rd fish was 6 lbs on 8" perch believer. Next trip I'm bringing 10 inch believers and jakes and 13" grandmas. Everytime I put a larger lure the fish size increased. Those fish are probably eating large ciscos , perch and small walleyes. My brother in law caught perch at the same time because he was trolling with worm harnesses and bottom bouncers. Last year i went to Callander but couldn't find the pike. I used to catch them there with my dad about 15 years ago. We used to use red devils drifting and casting the weed beds. last year in Callander i caught only eyes and perch. these pike gave an awsome fight and were airborn many times before we netted them. I also know a technique for filleting them boneless.
