Two of us decided that Simcoe is too close and bass is too small and went to Erie. Hey, it's only 3 hours drive for me, and Simcoe is my backyard pool, so why the heck not?

We were at a bait store around 5 AM and the second boat to launch.

It didn't help much. Whatever we were throwing at it was mostly ignored. Or picked up by perch-size guys you need a second pair of glasses to unhook

Six 1-1.5 pounders we finally kept were taken on cranks after too much labor. So I personally wasn't that impressed by "renowned" Erie bass fishery. Admittedly, locals were doing better, though

But fishing aside it was a fun trip and an interesting experience. For example variety and number of boats on the lake is amazing

Great pics and report as usual Miha!
Erie is tough to figure out. (If you ever can) lol
Some days are magical, others.....not so much.
One thing I can say, if you get into little guys....move, because most of them will be the same.
Cheers!

Thanks for the report Miha.

I love the pictures and reading the story book as usual..
Always with a twist of humour..

I only fished Erie a handful of times, it's like Mark said.
Some days sux, some days can't go wrong.

From a local who fishes it a lot, something to do with winds and rains murking up the water.. He won't even go out, if the winds are blowing some direction... Sorry can't remember what direction that was...

Good report Miha.

Erie is tempermental enough.

The bass you got are more or less typical sizes and the big girls are not always to come by easily.

most people out now chasing walleye and perch with bass as a backup plan.

For me, fall is big bassin time on Erie.
