Algal Bloom, Lake Ontario

Has anyone read this yet? Seems like the fish in Lake O would be bad to eat.

Definitely not as good to eat as the fish that come out of Lake Temiskaming.

I was talking to my buddy the other day, he was saying the fishing up there has been pretty good the last couple of weeks. Have you had a chance to get out lately?

Well i have been out once with my buddy from camp, i caught 3 eyes, he didnt catch any and his wife didnt catch any. Only 1 keeper.

But yes, the fishing has picked up, everyone is coming back with some fish to eat, and I dont have a boat to use, so i cant do my own fishing. Of course my Dad's boat has to break down a week before fishing picks up... lol

Im hoping my buddy will bring me back out this weekend. Either way, we are having a big fish fry for the whole camp ground on the weekend, so ill be eating fish! I just want to stock up for winter though!

Unfortunately, i couldnt get out.

And the fish fry was not the best. The guy cooking the fish was his first time doing so much fish. ( we had about 90 walleye to eat) The oil burned after a few batches because of all the batter, and they didnt taste it for quite a few batches. So it tasted burnt, even though it looked good. They then changed the oil, and cooked the rest, but i still had that taste f burnt fish in my mouth all night and kept tasting it when i burped.

But the fries were good! lol Still a good get together to paly texas horse shoes, and chat with the folks all around the camp ground.

This was an erroneous report.

There was no agae bloom on Lake O.....never really has been

It's discoloration from the limestone rock on the area..a good thing
