After being away from the trailer the last weekend we were anxious to get there this past weekend with the awesome forecast that was expected. Mother nature didn't disappoint with a stellar weekend with mostly low winds and lots of sunshine.

Fishing was on the slow side even with live minnows but we still managed to get about 6 pike in the 20-25" range and also lost a few big ones. Only one 15" bass was caught and also a few nice perch. We only kept one pike that was 30" and caught in the last few hours we fished on Sunday before dark.

The winds were quite high Sunday morning so Glenn managed to clean the carpets on the boat while I wiped everything down. Something that has been long overdue.

Here is Hog Island just before sunrise on Saturday...

It was a great weekend for weather. Fishing was tough for me too. But you can't have everything, every time.
Cheers!

Hey Nicole,

I am glad you got out for a weekend of fishing in the Thousand Islands.

Nice results as usual and beauty pics.

I was on a bus going over the bridge to the USA that Sat and took some pics from the top --- of the river and some places we fished..

I will post them soon.. Thought about you guys as we drove over and saw quite a few boats out fishing. I also saw a half dozen fishing boats parked at the Thousand Islands Duty Free shop..

Talk with you soon..

Cheers,
Jerry

We may have been one of the boats you saw as we decided to try out our perch honey hole for a bit that morning. It wasn't super productive but still caught a few there. I think a lot of people were trying for walleye around the bridge.

Hoping this weekend produces some nice fish as the pike have been kind of turned off the last month. Even the bass were not in the biting mood but possibly the east wind was shutting them down.

We did manage a few pike this past weekend and even 3 keepers in the 26" range but most of the weekend was spent on chores or dinner with the owner. The Leafs opener looked great on a 60" plasma rather than streaming it on slow internet.

A shortened long weekend visit coming up as we have Thanksgiving with my family in Aurora on Saturday and hopefully we can leave early afternoon to get in some fishing in the afternoon/evening. Looks like a beautiful forecast.

Since these pictures were taken on the same day that you were fishing,
I will post them here.

All taken Sat Sept. 28th while sitting on a bus on my way to NYC.

A few fishing boats can be seen, not sure if any were you guys.

But the internet sure makes the world a very small place..

Ha ha!!

I would like to say the one boat speeding off was us since it has it's top up but I don't recall driving through a narrow area like that at full speed. I do see our perch honey hole in one of the pictures though

Nice pictures.

Nice pics. I didn't realize that area was so scenic. May have to make my way over there some day.
