without hesitation i vote open. although i would never live in a place that doesn't have a hard water season.

Open Water


You can cover way more area's with less work involved . Some times they do make you work but nothing worse than drilling holes all over the lake, lugging everything around , staying warm etc ..... Open water it is

I do love the hard-water season too.....
