Fishing the last few weekends in the Thousand Islands has not been stellar so I haven't put up any posts lately. Most trips out only produced a single digit fish count but we have managed to keep about 8 eater pike in the 26" range over the last month. The wind has been limiting our time on the water but we are still able to get out for at least a few hours most days.
The trailer was winterized the weekend after Thanksgiving and then last weekend we stayed at the owners house for my birthday weekend. Fishing was slow but I managed to get a decent 2.5-3lb bass on my birthday so that put a smile on my face. Another notable fish caught was Glenn's personal best pike at 33".
We were suppose to pull the boat out on Monday but this weekends forecast didn't look too bad so we decided to wait another week. We are helping Gayle (the owner) do some chores getting ready for winter so she said we could stay at the house again since she still has some more things that she need help with.
Most likely the boat will come out this Sunday which is a day I'm not looking forward to. I'm hoping my last boating post is even half as good as mydogbites one but even if it is not, we have still had a great season.
Next on the agenda would be river fishing but also looking forward to the ice fishing season.
Here is Glenn's personal best pike caught a couple of weekends ago...

Happy belated birthday Nicole, great report and pics as usual. Congrat's to hubby Glenn on his personal best pike, nice photo with the fall colors in the background. You guys did have a great first season at your new trailer, thanks for the many reports and pictures you posted, they are always entertaining to read. Hopefully you will get out this weekend and finish the season with some quality fishing before you move on to river and eventually ice fishing.

Hey Nicole Happy Birthday
I'm sure you'll get back into the fish if weather satbiles a tad.......
btw, never mentioned it, but that pike you gave me way back when was scrumptious...TY
Thanks, glad you liked it. I have now turned the whole trailer park onto loving pike so I have a feeling we are going to be busy next year trying to get a bunch of keepers!
On a side note, I forgot to mention that that pike of Glenn's went back to swim again and get bigger and make more babies. The blood was just a lip wound. Another interesting note is that all of the keepers that we have caught in the last couple of months were mostly empty bellies and also female. I wonder what the males are up to??

Happy belated Birthday Nicole,
I am very happy I got the chance to hook-up with you this summer in the Thousand Islands. A dream come true. I have fished there on the shore for years... It was funny when we were out there and you pointed out the spot I usually fish. Looks quite sad from out there in the middle..
Hopefully we can hookup again during my visits to Eastern Ontario, Gale had a good laugh when I showed up just walking carrying a fishing rod and tackle box, she said, where's the car?? Who gets dropped off to fish..
You had a great year out there, that is one nice chunky pike, congrats to Glenn for his PB.
Thanks again for all your well written reports and fantastic fish porn..

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
This past weekend was again a fight with the winds and rain but we managed to get out for 4 hrs Saturday and Sunday. The fishing was not stellar as I had hoped with one 23" pike caught Saturday and the rest of the fish were perch 10" and under and not a lot of them. The water was quite murky on Saturday after the big blow we had on Friday but had cleared by Sunday. There was some damage to docks and trees but thankfully no damage to the trailer or our boat.
This was the second weekend in a row that we were going to pull the boat for winterizing but this coming weekend looks like it will be fishable so we have delayed it yet another week. I'm glad the owner (Gayle) is happy to let us stay in her house so we are not going broke renting hotel rooms. We are helping her prepare for winter as well so doing some work for stay is a good barter.
Here is some damage by the winds on Friday to a dock where we are keeping our boat . We are docked in behind this breakwall shown so were protected from the high waves which got to almost 5 ft at times.
