well I got it done today, seen lots of birds this year and had some really bad luck in shooting one. Had 6 shootable birds all in range and for one reason or another didn't get anything until today. Even at that I missed the first one at about 10ft but this one came running back at a better range, 25yd or so. 1 shot to the head and it was all over.

They were out in the field. I first saw 3 birds couple hundred yds down the side of the bush. They moved to where the bush jogged a bit, then they walked back to me. There were 7 by the time they started back to me. 2 Tom's, 2 bearded hens and 3 regular hens. Was a bit strange that so many birds were still together at 8am. So no calling or decoys.
