Here's a pic of the dry doe I took this year before taking her with a borrowed Eco-mag,as the only deer I saw during the shotgun week, was not much bigger than a goat.....

actually big chevy 4x4 is chuck, i beleive. im not as "big " as him . yah it does .the guy on the left owns the property and he put no trespassing signs everywhere and that year someone that we had problems with put all those signs on his property. the game warden knows all about it and charged them last year . so every year this group of guys or two of them thats left do all kind of things to the land. turn signs around . steal stands Ext, we did find the guys huge pot field and notified the authorities . nothing scarier than coming up on a tweaker all strung out on your property guarding his plot. suffice to say we got rid of them and now new problems come up with anti hunters on the land walking there dogs. we put signs that said we are not responsible for any coyotes shot on leashes . they don't come back anymore. we had some strange a hole a few years ago riding his bike wearing a white helmet and brown jacket boning and weaving on the trails, this was during shotgun opener. he didn't like the fine he got over 5 gs. the new trespassing fines are stiff .kept arguing that he had a right to protect the animals. the game warden showed him a small clip of what he looked like in a vid and said he was luckey not to get killed

Sorry Icepic, don't know why I said Big Chev4x4.

Great story's, the area I currently hunt is crown and we get the old Italian mushroom pickers wandering through the woods in Bow season. They don't stick to the trails either and no blaze. Public land so we can't say anything but sure ruins your day when they find an bunch of shrooms near your stand.

story about the last pick with the moose. on opening morning we hooked up with my old crew, locals from the area, good guys and great hunters, we had a tag and they didn't. we designated the doggers , usually the locals and me, I was not in the best shape, and we go to the drop off for us as the line is setting up I look up at a cliff and small mountain , holy cow I'm not a spring chicken anymore. everyone else is 15plus years my junior.moose is the first exercise I get before deer.we starte at 8 sharp and we all go 3-4 hundred yards apart with radios and go up the hill. at this point no one has a loaded gun because of the dangers involved with a climb like that. we all get to the top in 20 min .
we precede our slow push doing zigzags and checking gullies and swails. about an hour into it I push something that's bedded at the edge of a cliff ,we don't have a cow tag so we have to be carefull, it's running strait at me and turned away last second ,nice bull but don't have time for shot, heading toward other doggers, I call them on the radio and tell em ones coming there way. one of the doggers catches a fleeting glimpse by then I come out on the trail right on a stander . he's smoking away and made a move from the spot we left him and the moose came out and smelled the cigarette smoke and went back in. I called the rest of the doggers and told them to all push slowly toward where it came out. I heard the moose comming up the hill but standing in a position could not see him, it wanted to. break the line but could not make up it's mind. again I see the smoke wafting toward me. the guy doesn't get it the moose can smell him. at this point it's hung up.so I tell the stander to come to where I am in case it doubles back and he refuses. no problems, I tell a few more standard to get ready and I'll push it toward them , get in a high clear position so you can get a good shot. I walk up the hill trail at a normal gate nit like I'm stalking, seems the animals know when your in stealth mode . I see the tail end and don't want to blow a running away Texas heart shot so I yell it's in front of me and starte barking like a dog. I go over one two hills and here bang , I drop to the ground , then another . then nothing , I was just ready to crest the third hill and at the bottom lays the moose. was no more than 50ft from me. hunter dan walks up, I congratulate him and put a blood stripe on his forehead , his first moose . then I pass him the knife and instuct him on cleaning , he cleans the knife and I say keep it it's your first moose .it started to snow and started to get into a blizzard right after the photos, but that's another story . by 930 am opening morning we had the moose down and by 1 was back at camp

A great story Icepic, glad you got the moose. Not fun having bullets flying your way though. I was sitting behind some brush on a powerline in Nova Scotia. Blaze is manditory. Saw a guy stop in the middle of the road a couple hundred yards below me, his car stopped just past where I parked so he knew another hunter was in the area. He got out and glassed the powerline for a bit. Just as I was about to wave at him he went back towards his car so I turned to look back in the direction I was facing to see what may have caught his interest. 30 sec. later I hear a smack in the branches of the brush above me then the bang. I dove to the ground shaking like a leaf. I could still see the idiot and watched him put down his rifle on his hood and his binos up again trying to see what the heck he shot at. As soon as I collected my senses I poked my 30.06 semi through the brush and emptied my clip in the air above his head. We'll now who's kissing dirt, I jumped up and let out ever foul word I was ever told not to say and more. The a-hole jumped in his car a sped off. Never been so scared in my life, thank god he was a poor shot. 200+ yds with open sights also. I always wonder if he had a scope would he have seen me or still fired but with better accuracy. I thought about putting a couple rounds in his car but didn't know if anyone else was in it.

Oh by the wayI found the link below and thought you might want to share it with your hunting buddy.

Heres one that was coming to my stand like an hour after dark. Not once did he show up through out the day. Oh well had to settle for a little spike. Gotta love trail cams though.
