Been seeing a coyote that's been walking across the goose fields last fall a few times when I have been hunting. I went out this morning and setup to see if I might be able to chance him/her in. I used my rabbit hat with a mink pelt sewn on for a decoy and 70 yds or so fishing line tied to it for some motion and placed it on a corn stubble.

Pic I am using a Haydel squealer and doing the odd bark. I see one coming at about 300 yds out of the bush line crossing the field with my binoculars. And then pick it up about 150 yds with my scope.

It sees the hat bobbing and comes to about 20 yds from it and stops and slowly walks in and stops again looking around. It's now about 80 yds from me and I do a head shot.

Hey NG, nice yote! I am betting you didn't need the rabbit, you could have just made a few cries and then wiggled your beard? that way you can get them in real close?
